When
the GX is severely damaged during Garoad's battle with
artificial newtype Caris Nautilus, Kid Salsamille, the
Frieden's chief mechanic, steps in with not only repairs,
but upgrades. Using various parts of just about anything that he's collected over
the years, Kid sets out to give the Gundam X a big
upgrade. Gone is the fearsome Satellite Cannon, which was
too badly damaged to be salvaged during the battle with
Caris.Among the new
features on the Gundam X Divider is the Divider itself, a
large shield that contains thirteen beam cannons (which
Kid has nicknamed "harmonica cannon") and more
thrusters. The Gundam has also received a new beam sword
and a machine gun, as well as more thrusters.
The Gundam X Divider makes
its debut against Caris Nautilus. When Shagia and Olba
Frost come to fight once again, they're shocked to find
that the GX has been upgraded, and the new GX-DV easily
takes on both of them in their Gundams Virsago and
Ashtaron.
Gundam X Divider remains
in the possession of Garoad Ran until he steals Gundam
Double X from the New Federation, at which point the GX
falls into the able hands of Jamil Neat, captain of the
Freeden.
