Fifteen
years ago, the colonies fought the Earth Federation in
the 7th Space War. The Earth Federation produced secret
weapons known as Gundams; the Gundam series was
piloted by a newtype who would control several bit mobile
suits using the Flash System in addition to the Gundam
itself. Of the Gundam series, the most powerful was the
GX-9900. The GX contains another system separate of the
Flash System. Using this Satellite System, the newtype
pilot can inflict massive amounts of damage with extra
energy received from a power station on the moon's
surface. As long as the moon can be seen, the pilot can
activate the Satellite System. Energy is sent from the
moon to the Gundam through super-microwaves and an
enormous beam blast (Gundam W fans, imagine Wing Gundam
Zero, but with a blue beam instead of yellow) obliterates
anything in its way. During the war, the Satellite Cannon
demonstrates its power when Jamil Neat attempts to stop
the colony drop with it.However, Gundam X is more than simply colony
crushing fun. It's quite capable in regular battle as
well, with a beamsaber, buster rifle, and four Vulcan
guns. Fifteen years after the 7th Space War, 15-year-old
Garoad Ran finds it quite useful in battles against other
Gundams, as well as regular mobile suits.
The GX sees its way
through several battles until newtype Caris Nautilus has
his way with it and the suit is severely damaged. The
Satellite Cannon is completely ruined and the entire suit
is in bad shape when the Freeden's chief mechanic, Kid
Salsamille, steps up with a new idea to help defeat the
newtype: A major upgrade and overhaul.
