Alternate Universe Gundam FAQ

I'll be expanding on this section whenever necessary. Any question answered here will be ignored if I get it in E-mail, so you'd do best to check here first.

Q: When are you going to get to <insert character/mech/episode/etc.>?
A: Honestly, we don't know. We try to go in order, and we write when we have the time to do so. I guess you'll just have to wait, because we can't answer this question.

Q: Will you tell me what happens to <character or mech>/in <episode>/etc.?
A: No. That's what the site is for, and if we haven't covered it yet, you can be pretty sure we eventually will. If you see something we may have missed, some vital part of the show that we didn't create a section for, feel free to send in a suggestion. But we're not going to actually give you a rundown of series/episode events in E-mail. Sorry, but there's not enough time for that.

Q: Links questions...
Q: Will you link me?
A: Send your link to Dash, whose E-mail is at the bottom of this page. If you send it to anyone else, then no, we won't link you. If your site a) sucks, b) is "under construction," or c) doesn't meet our guidelines put forth in the Links section, you won't be linked.
Q: Can I link you?
A: Go ahead, unless you've got some blacklist that you're planning to put us on...

Q: What do you use to create the site?
A: The HTML is done with Microsoft Front Page because, though I did learn HTML, I'm simply too lazy to use it. Images were done with either Adobe Photoshop 5.0 or 6.0, depending on the image (all images from now on will be done with 6.0, but some older ones were done with 5.0).

Q: I saw <some person/thing>'s name spelled differently at <some site>. Why don't you spell it that way/why doesn't he spell it your way? (Mostly applies to Gundam X)
A: After War Gundam X hasn't been picked up for commercial release yet, so there aren't "official" English spellings as determined by the company bringing it over (though there are English spellings floating around out there on official merchandise). I spell the names as my fansubs do. Other people probably have their own sources. I say good for them. As for Gundam W... well, we got into that through the dub on Cartoon Network, so it's possible we just made a mistake. The only one we simply won't budge on is...

Q: Why do you spell Heero's name Hiiro?
A: Yes, I realize other web sites, magazines, etc. spell it "Heero." The kana on the episode title cards spell the name "Hiiro." That was my source, I'm gonna have to stick to that, since it would have been written by the show's creators. Furthermore, every character is named after a number. Duo is Italian for two (due) or from the English word "duo," Trowa is taken from the French word for three (trois), Quatre is French for four, and Wu (from Wu Fei) is Chinese for five. Hiiro's name comes from the the word hitotsu, which means "one" in Japanese (not in quite the same way as "ichi," though). I will cede that "Heero" is the official spelling, but that doesn't mean we have to use it - "Hiiro" is more correct, in the opinion of this site's webmasters.

Q: Where's all the Gundam X multimedia?
A: Coming very, very slowly.

Q: So how much Gundam have you guys seen?
A: PJ and Banta have both seen only Gundam Wing and whatever Cartoon Network is currently at on other Gundam shows. At the time of this writing, Dash has seen all of Mobile Suit Gundam, The 08th MS Team, Gundam 0080, and Gundam 0083, as well as the first several episodes of Z Gundam (probably finished by the time this is actually read), Mobile Suit Gundam F91, the first few episodes of Mobile Fighter G Gundam (probably finished), all of New Mobile Report Gundam Wing and Endless Waltz, After War Gundam X, and about half of Turn A Gundam (probably finished).
